Curriculum
Orientation
Week 00
Prepare yourself for this immersive learning experience. Familiarise yourself with Cahoot’s collaborative learning platform and navigate through a brief orientation module that will set you up for success and help you get comfortable with your online learning journey.
The learning ecosystem
Week 01
"We need to design the learning ecosystem of the future". - Michelle Weise. It's time to break down fragmented silos and create an integrated and transparent system that supports all of the ed-sector’s many stakeholders.
This foundational week will see participants explore and debate ed-sector megatrends including microcredentials and short-form learning; industry integration in curriculum and the need for job ready graduates; driving student engagement; the rising importance of technology and AI in learning; our longer lifespan and the move toward lifelong learning; the reform of career navigation; the importance of enterprise/human skills; the ubiquity of content and its impact to the role of the institution and its teaching team; plus many other exciting topics.
Contemporary architecture
Week 02
The pace of change is relentless. It’s an undisputed fact that we need to build cheaper and shorter academic programs at a faster pace. For this we need systemic reform across the board that afford a degree of flexibility and malleability to support the insatiable pace of change in the modern era.
In addition to contemporary architecture, this week will focus on the professional teaching and learning team of the future, workforce planning and workload models, as well as how to think about developing the capability of our people.
Effective learning & teaching practices
Week 03
We know so much more about the brain, the way we learn and how we retain, apply and transfer learning. Neuroscience in teaching and learning is a nascent field with infinite possibility and potential.
This week we will focus on “better” teaching and learning practices; contemporary assessment; new modes of delivery (hybrid/hyflex/cohort/peer-mediated etc.) as well as the pros, cons and future of Competency Based Education (CBE); all underpinned by our renewed understanding of neuroscience.
Student outcomes & success
Week 04
What are great student outcomes and how many students achieve success? Surprisingly few people can answer these questions with authority. This week we will tackle the changing technology landscape, most notably the role of the Learning Management System (LMS) and how we track, nurture and encourage student engagement through technology itself, as well as both peer and subject specialist assisted support.
We will close the program with a reflection on global rankings and their (adverse) impact on the sector we know and love.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the course adjust to my schedule?
CONNECTed's courses are modular release, cohort-led and offer a hyflex model with both synchronous (optional) and asynchronous elements that collectively provide an unrivalled learning experience.
While best enjoyed 'with the pack', the course flexes to your schedule and occasional absence from the program shouldn't substantively impact the outcome.
Why is there a waitlist, why can't I start now?
We believe in the power of community. You join this program with domain experience, competencies and skills that compliment the learning experience for others and vice versa.
While expert facilitators are there to guide the conversation, share insights and encourage debate, it's through discourse, encouragement and interrogating others points of view where true learning takes place.
We'll notify you when we reach 40 participants. From there we'll endeavour to start the program within 10 days. This threshold will ensure a memorable experience for all.
I want to enrol in this course but Covid has been brutally unkind - do you offer discounts?
Our courses are well priced commensurate with value. That said, we recognise that situations arise from time-to-time in our lives that see us needing to prioritise lower-order needs through sheer neccesity.
